Happy Sunday everyone! Guess what today is? SST DAAAAY!
Time to share some Dreamstrider quotes with all of you lovely peoples. BUT I do need to share that this is an uncorrected ARC, so some things may have been changed and all that jazz.
1.Visions dance before my eyes–some memories, some not–of my life back in Barstadt. The way the other Ministry operatives fall silent and move to another room whenever I’m around. The Incident, with the crackle of flame and scent of charred meat hanging thick in the air. A glimpse of my mother’s milky eyes, roving the tunnels in search of help that never comes.
That moment when a quote gives you chills. JUST LOOK AT THE QUOTE! ARE YOU LOOKING?! Do you feel the chills running up and down your spine? DO YOU? :D?
2.I always dreamed too big, too bright, too much. Every night, in the dank corners of the tunnels, the knobby spines of other tunnelers digging into my own, the Dreamer filled my head with promises of a better life.
The opening like is such a hook isn’t it? What happens next? What is all of this tunneling and Dreamer business? Don’t you feel like you need to know :D?
3. The Nightmare Wastes’ call threads through the tress delicate wind. Delicate but insistent–my soul flutters on the breeze. They’re blowing me off course, pulling a snare around me with those velvet words.
Wow. What is this scene? The imagery is freaky and awesome!
4. I’m used to the abrupt silence that surrounds me in the Ministry’s living quarters, thick as weeds, but after all that’s happened in the past day, I’ve no patience for it.
So many good quotes in Dreamstrider! Can’t wait until ALL of you read it! Let me know if you have and what you think.
About the book
A high-concept, fantastical espionage novel set in a world where dreams are the ultimate form of political intelligence.
Livia is a dreamstrider. She can inhabit a subject’s body while they are sleeping and, for a short time, move around in their skin. She uses her talent to work as a spy for the Barstadt Empire. But her partner, Brandt, has lately become distant, and when Marez comes to join their team from a neighborhing kingdom, he offers Livia the option of a life she had never dared to imagine. Livia knows of no other dreamstriders who have survived the pull of Nightmare. So only she understands the stakes when a plot against the Empire emerges that threatens to consume both the dreaming world and the waking one with misery and rage.
A richly conceived world full of political intrigue and fantastical dream sequences, at its heart Dreamstrider is about a girl who is struggling to live up to the potential before her.
